We watched her chart her course.  We sat in numb silence, trying to forget her, constantly battling to keep normality to our lives.  We feared her wrath.  We knew she would be the end, but we could not stop our living.  We went to work.  We did the groceries.  We boarded our homes.  We packed our precious.  But in the back of our minds sat a quiet dread.  On the eve of the storm, we loaded up what mattered most and headed for higher ground.  There was no expectation of what we would come back to.  Times before, we were lucky and returned to our normality.  Would we return?  Would this be the end?  There would be no way to predict the destruction that Katrina would leave in her wake.  There would be no way to estimate the death toll or to predict who we would never see alive again.  There was no way to prepare ourselves for what we have come to find:  everything we knew, everything we loved, everything we had ever cherished about our lives would come crashing down upon our little town.

Welcome to Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi.

The local newspaper refers to it as ground zero.  Reporters refer to it as "the aftermath of an atomic bomb."  Storm watchers call it the wrath of God.  But we, the citizens of the quaint and cheerful little hamlet of Bay Saint Louis, call this place our home.

My name is April Carter.  I called this place home.  Join my family, my friends, my neighbors and my fellow Bay folk as we track the process of rebuilding.  You will hear our experiences, our nightmares, understand our fears and our devastation; you will find the love, the courage, and the loyalty of the townspeople here to be extraordinary.
You will see footage and see the history, the progress and the process.

I invite you to live through this experience with us; watch as it shall change you as it has changed us all.  It will touch you.  It will move you.  It will anger you as it has angered us.  It will strengthen you and it will alter you.
